Why Online Dating is Not Perfect

I have been studying online dating for years and it would appear at first like it is a great idea. For guys you know that the women are available. Most guys who see an attractive woman in public, quickly find out that she is married or already has a long term boyfriend. It is difficult enough for most guys to talk to attractive women and then when they try, they find out almost all of them are already taken.
So they may think online dating is the answer.

Barcelona Spain Culture and Lifestyle - Videos of the favorite Tourist Locations

Please see video below.

The first thing any English speaking person should know and accept when they travel to Spain is:

1. "Right now" generally means about one hour.
2. "A few minutes" usually means two hours.

If you are from America, Canada, Australia, or the United Kingdom this understanding will save you a lot of frustrations and you will enjoy your trip to Barcelona and the rest of Spain more than if you try to force an English speaking mentality on the relations you have with Spanish speaking people of Spain.
Their culture is very different to what you may be accustomed to in your native country.

Please understand you are in their country and you can learn a lot by studying their culture and lifestyle.

If you are fortunate enough to have the financial resources to stay in a luxury 5 star hotel like the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos there will of course be English speaking staff. People come from all over the world to visit Barcelona which is known worldwide for all night dancing and partying.
It is true, and it is also very different from say Las Vegas, where you can also party all night long. The Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos has some very good things and some really stupid things their management does. The good include a great breakfast buffet that any American hotel executive could learn from, the gym and spa are very nice and the staff does try to please you. The bad includes a very small shower area even by European standards, the Garden restaurant is always booked and very expensive. Then if you order room service you can have some $30 French fries and other vastly over priced food. Spain is very expensive in general and it is not just the exchange rate. Like most of Europe everything is more expensive since the conversion to the Euro. I do not understand why this is yet it it true for the Netherlands, France, Spain etc.
A rental car in the USA that might cost $70 per day is $510 per day in Barcelona, you do not really want to drive yourself in the city anyway, the traffic and drivers are kind of crazy. Even dry cleaning your laundry is about 400% more expensive than in the USA. Plus the level of service is terrible. I had to go twice to pick up my clothes because when they were supposed to be ready I was told tomorrow, which is typical of Spain's culture. Then they did not give me all my clothes and the next day I had to have the hotel call them 3 times and after a few hours my clothes did finally appear. This is why you need to alter your American ideas of service and quality when you are in Spain.

Some of the funny things I noticed:

Just a short walk down the street heading north towards the beach you will see one of the most beautiful buildings that looks like a castle. It is a military building and then across the street is a University with a run down dumpy building that is their College of Architecture. This makes Americans smile, because it is the complete opposite in America.

Watch President Trump - Does Tylenol (Acetaminophen) cause Autism? - This is a debatable topic.

Current evidence does not show that Tylenol (acetaminophen) causes autism.
While some preliminary observational studies have suggested a statistical association between prenatal acetaminophen exposure and neurodevelopmental conditions, larger, more rigorous studies have found no evidence of a causal link.

Two different models for regulating social media giants, explained. Listen to Alan Dershowitz about Online Free Speech.

The 1st amendment rights of Google, Facebook, and Twitter must be terminated by new USA Federal laws.

USA Supreme Court Justice Thomas suggests regulating Big Tech platforms like utilities.

In the USA websites have the same 1st amendment constitutional rights as newspapers, to choose whether or not to carry, publish or withdraw the expression of others.

Congress enacted the Communications Decency Act (CDA) as Title V of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 in an attempt to prevent minors from gaining access to sexually explicit materials on the Internet.

Section 230 of the CDA did not create or modify Big Tech's 1st amendment rights. The law merely ensures that courts will quickly dismiss lawsuits that would have been dismissed anyway on First Amendment grounds, with far less hassle, stress and expense.
At the scale of the billions of pieces of content posted by users every day, that liability shield is essential to ensure that website owners are not forced to abandon their right to moderate content by a tsunami of meritless but costly litigation.

Instructions for Number Scramble Puzzle

Instructions for Number Scramble Puzzle

The Number Scramble Puzzle is a simple, DOM-based slide puzzle game designed to work on your Blogspot blog. It’s a 4x4 grid of numbered tiles (1-15, with one empty space) that you rearrange by clicking to slide tiles into the empty space. The goal is to order the tiles numerically (1 in the top-left, 15 in the bottom-right, empty space in the bottom-right) in as few moves as possible. Below are the detailed instructions for playing and embedding the game.

Instructions for the Enhanced Memory Card Game -- By GotoTom

Step-by-Step Rules

  1. Start Playing:
    • The game begins immediately—no "Start" button needed. Time starts ticking right away.
  2. Flip Cards:
    • Click (or tap on mobile) any face-down card ("?") to flip it over, revealing its symbol (e.g., 🍎).
    • Immediately click a second card to flip it. You can only flip two at a time.
    • Cards stay face-up briefly so you can see them.
  3. Check for Matches:
    • Match Found: If the two cards show the same symbol, they stay flipped, lock in place (often with a green glow or highlight), and are removed from play. Your score increases (e.g., +100 points per pair). You get an immediate bonus turn—flip another pair right away!
    • No Match: The cards flip back face-down after a short delay (1–2 seconds). Your move count goes up by 1, and you lose a bit of score (e.g., -10 points). Remember their positions for later!
    • Pro Tip: The delay on mismatches adds tension—use that time to memorize the board.
  4. Track Progress:
    • Moves: Every flip pair counts as one move, whether it matches or not. Aim low (perfect game: 18 moves for 18 pairs).
    • Time: Runs continuously—beat it under 3–5 minutes for a great run.
    • Score: Calculated live (e.g., (matches × 100) - (moves × 10) - (time × 1)). Higher is better; watch it drop on mistakes.
  5. Win or Lose:
    • Win: Clear all 36 cards (all pairs matched). Congrats—a win screen pops up with your final score, time, and moves. It might unlock a harder mode next time.
    • Lose: If you hit a move limit (e.g., 50–60, though not specified), the game ends early.
    • Restart: Click "New Game" on the end screen or refresh the page to shuffle and start over.

Controls & Tips for Success

  • How to Interact: Mouse clicks for desktop; finger taps for touchscreens. Hover over cards for a subtle glow (if styled that way).
  • Difficulty Boosters (Why It's "More Difficult"):
    • Larger 6x6 grid means more cards to track—random shuffling each game keeps it fresh.
    • Real-time pressure from the timer and scoring—no endless turns.
    • Potential extras (inferred from enhancements): Misdirection cards (non-matching "duds") in advanced modes, or penalties for flipping already-seen cards.
  • Strategy:
    • Memory Hack: Divide the grid mentally into sections. After a mismatch, prioritize flipping a known card next.
    • Efficiency: Work edges first to reveal patterns. Avoid random flips—each move costs score!
    • Practice: Start with fewer mismatches. Track personal bests (e.g., screenshot your score).
    • Browser Tips: Play in landscape mode on mobile; disable pop-up blockers if needed. If cards lag, try a different browser.

As you can see Audrey has had a tough childhood, just kidding.

It is funny to me, that when Americans first go to Venice Italy, they say "please take me to Lido Island", the Italian's smile and know for sure you are an American visitor.
Because in Italian Lido means beach. So they just say let's go to the Lido.

Venice Italy is a fantastic place to visit and I hope to go back there someday.
It was many years ago, when I took a train ride with my daughter around Europe.
My daughter still talks about that trip today, and she is an adult now with a job as a Financial Controller for a large corporation.

Italian culture is unique and has many facets, Italy is steeped in the arts, family, pride of workmanship, loyalty to friends, architecture, music and food.
Home of the Roman Empire and a major center of the Renaissance, culture on the Italian peninsula that has flourished for hundreds of years.

If you are of Italian decent, then you may recognize some of these holiday traditions your Italian ancestors brought with them to America.

The Day of the Immaculate Conception
This observance begins on December 8th with the celebration of Mary’s Immaculate Conception. The famous Christmas markets are officially open for the season on this special day. Between the nativity scenes, staged plays, bonfires, and strung lights, Italian cities become Christmas wonderlands. There are far less tourists in the winter time.

Christmas Eve – Feast of the Seven Fishes
Known as “la Vigilla,” this observation celebrates the birth of Jesus at midnight, hence the widely attended tradition of Midnight Mass. Vowing not to eat meat until Christmas Day, many partake in the Feast of the Seven Fishes, or “Festa dei Sette Pesci.” Hailing from Southern Italy, the Feast of the Seven Fishes is more prominent with Italian Americans than with Italians.

La Befana
In the same way that children expect Santa Claus to stuff their stockings with presents, Italian children look for the witch, “la Befana” in Italian, to fill their shoes with gifts and candies. The difference is that Italian children wake up to presents on January 6th instead of Christmas morning.

January 6th marks the end of the Christmas celebrations, on Epiphany, when the Three Mages brought gifts to baby Jesus. As the story goes, the Three Wise Men met La Befana on their way to the manger in Bethlehem. Generous and humble, the old woman hosted the Wise Men in her cottage, giving them food and drink. In the morning, they invited her to join their trip. But she declined, only to regret her decision later. She hurriedly gathered gifts for Jesus but did not reach Bethlehem in time. Traveling the skies on her ragged broomstick, la Befana continues her search to this day, leaving treats for the nice children and coal for the naughty and evil children.
